Can we protect our teeth from decay by having the areas with potential decay filled in?

How is the filling done?
Majority of the filling materials used nowadays just bind to the tooth but not adhere. For this reason, dentist takes certain binding precautions while filling the teeth. These precautions become possible by the preparation of special binding holes in the teeth. While filling, as a golden rule, first a good cavity (hole) is prepared and; with the filling material, to be applied on the tooth, the natural shape of the tooth is tried to be restored.

Which filling materials are chosen?
While choosing the filling material,dentists take into account material to endure against chewing pressure in back teeth and, not to be noticed as much as possible in front teeth and not to damage the tooth and dental pulp.  Now, we would like to give you information about few filling material types:
